Located between Walnut and Locust Streets on Cobbs Creek Parkway. Laura Sims Skate House provides skating lesson opportunities for the West Philadelphia community and beyond!

The Skate House is named in honor of its founder, Mrs. Laura Sims. Who began campaigning for an arena in the Cobbs Creek neighborhood in the early 1970s. It took 12 years, but in February 1985, Cobbs Creek Skate House opened its doors to the community providing an official Olympic-sized ice skating rink in Philadelphia.

Bimbel of Laura Sims Skate House is owned and operated by the City of Philadelphia Department of Parks and Recreation and is one of five ice rinks in the city.

Laura Sims Skatehouse at Cobbs Creek Park is located in West Philadelphia and serves students from surrounding city neighborhoods. The rink was transformed from a seasonal venue to a year-round facility in 2011. When the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation partnered with the State of Pennsylvania and the City of Philadelphia to completely renovate and enclose the rink. Laura Sims Skatehouse hosts the Snider Hockey After School Excellence Program from September to June and also hosts Snider Hockey summer camps during select weeks in July and August.

Great place to learn ice skating in Philadelphia for kids & adults. A line of amazing coaches ready to help in boosting your confidence & learning curve. The most fun ice skating class is like a family home. Between June and October, you can skate here. Free parking.

There is a medium-sized parking lot next to the rink with street parking nearby. Ample parking is available.
